Alpine skiers (downhill skiers) may prefer to enjoy this winter sport in the less controlled environment that heli-skiing offers. "White Magic" was printed as art cards and used as Christmas cards by the Canadian Olympic Association.

The thrill of shooting through untouched powder over a pristine mountain ridge gives you a definite feeling of exhilaration and freedom. It produces an irrefutable adrenaline rush and the knowledge that if you can survive this jump you can conquer the mountain and the world. This is the moment, the feeling of magic that I have tried to convey in this watercolor painting of a downhill skier.

You may be interested to know that, true to traditional watercolor techniques, this light-filled snow spray watercolor of an Alpine skier was painted without the use of white paint.
