This illustration is for a book by Corie Laraya-Coutts illustrated by Hanne Lore Koehler called DJ MacDONALD: Tale of a Malypayon Warrior. It is the story of a 15-year-old boy who, through strange circumstances, leads an undersea mission to rescue a prisoner held captive in the deepest ocean chasm called THE BEYOND. Here the group is greeted by a mermaid officer in a conch coach pulled by ten seahorses in the undersea Reefdom of the Coral Palace.
