Description
Based on the fairytale Daniel O'Rourke by W.B. Yeats, this juvenile fiction story adaptation by Mary Withers is illustrated by Hanne Lore Koehler, published by Tutkam Books.
Pooka Hill is the Newfoundland version of the story of the mischievous Irish fairytale character, the Pooka, who can transform himself into many different animals. In this story he appears as a laughing seagull, a killer whale, a red-winged blackbird, an eagle, and a Canada goose to terrorize a frightened Newfoundlander.
